FAQ'S

How long do Microlocs last?

With proper care microlocs can last a lifetime. It can be a permanent style or a temporary style that can be combed or cut out whenever you're ready.

Can I style Microlocs as I would my natural hair?

Absolutely! Microlocs are versatile and can be styled just like your natural hair. However, less is more! Limit your styles to tension free options to prevent damage.

Can I add hair to my Microlocs for length or fullness?

I do not add hair to your Microlocs as it can cause damage and isn't best for your hair long term. Ultimately, I want to to experience the full potential of your hair.

How long does the install take?

Install time varies from person to person. However, it can take anywhere from 8–16 hours (broken into 1-2 days) depending on your hair. Come comfy and ready to sit a spell.

Do I have to go through an “ugly phase”?

Nope. The method I use gives maximum coverage without added hair. Your microlocs will look bomb from day one!

How are microlocs different from Sisterlocks® or traditional locs?

Microlocs give you a customized grid and small Sisterlock feel but with more volume and fullness. In contrast Sisterlocks can not be customized and because of the installation technique they don't have as much volume. However, in the long run they'll look almost the same. I like to think Sisterlocks resemble having relaxed hair (straighter and sleeker locs) while Microlocs resemble natural hair (curly and fuller locs).

What condition does my hair have to be in for Microlocs?

Microlocs are best for naturally kinky, coily, curly hair that has not been chemically straightened (no relaxer or texturizer). Your hair should be at least 6 inches long when stretched, healthy, and free of major damage or breakage. Not sure if your hair is ready? No worries. Book a consultation and we’ll assess your hair together. If your hair is not ready for Microlocs, I’ll help you create a game plan to get it there.
